Donald Sillars BannatynneThe man behind Arran Haulage Services Ltd is DS Bannatyne. The eldest of two brothers DS started studying civil engineering at Glasgow.  At the age of 23 he got the call from Dad to assist whilst there was a driver shortage and has never looked back, today heading an island based business and market leader.

Today's Arran Haulage Services Ltd was the merger in 1988 of two company's - Bannatyne Motors of Blackwaterfoot and Arran Transport & Trading Co. Ltd.

The present MD's father, who retired November 2001, also a DS, was responsible for the merger with David Warwick and directors.  With the merging of two fleets came a streamlining of the operation with vehicles being reduced to and maintained at the present level of 17.

Turnover has doubled since 1998 per annum.

In 1994 Arran Transport were bought out by the present organization.
